Delete Your Account
Last updated: April 2026
This page explains how to permanently delete your Ascend account and associated personal data. Ascend is published by NexusWeaver Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
1. Delete Your Account from Within the App
The fastest way to delete your account is from inside Ascend on the device where you are signed in:
- Open the Ascend app.
- Sign in if prompted.
- Tap the Profile icon, then tap Settings.
- Scroll down to the Data & Privacy section.
- Tap Delete All Data.
- Read the confirmation dialog carefully, then tap Delete to confirm.
Your account will be permanently deleted immediately. You will be signed out and returned to the welcome screen.
2. Request Deletion by Email
If you cannot access the app (for example, you have lost the device, cannot sign in, or have already uninstalled Ascend), email info@nexusweaver.io from the email address registered on your account with the subject line “Delete my Ascend account”.
We will verify your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days, in line with UK GDPR Article 17 (Right to Erasure). You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.
3. What Data Is Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently and irreversibly removed from our systems:
- Your Firebase Authentication record (email, password hash, OAuth tokens)
- Profile information (name, age, height, weight, goals, dietary preferences)
- All workout logs, training plans, exercise history
- All nutrition logs, meal plans, recipes, water intake records
- All body measurements (weight history, body fat, circumferences)
- Sleep, mood, hydration, fasting, and habit tracking data
- Health Connect / Apple Health imported metrics held by Ascend
- Profile and progress photos uploaded to Ascend
- Voice recordings transcribed by the AI Coach (audio is not retained beyond transcription)
- AI Coach conversation history
- Achievements, streaks, XP, ascension levels
- Community posts, comments, likes, follows, squad memberships
- Challenges you created, joined, or participated in
- Notification preferences and reminder schedules
- Strava and other connected-account access tokens
- Active subscription metadata held within Ascend
4. What Data Is Retained (and Why)
A small amount of non-identifying or legally required data is retained after account deletion. We do this only where we have a lawful basis under UK GDPR Article 6 (legal obligation, legitimate interest, or anonymisation):
- Anonymised audit logs — retained for 90 days for security, fraud prevention, and abuse investigation. These logs do not contain your name, email, or any data that identifies you.
- Billing records — invoices and payment records processed by Stripe, Apple, or Google must be retained for 6 years to comply with HMRC tax obligations (UK Companies Act 2006, section 388). These records contain only the minimum information required by law (transaction ID, date, amount, VAT) and not your fitness data.
- Anonymised analytics and crash diagnostics — aggregated, non-identifying telemetry collected via Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics. This is retained indefinitely in anonymised form and cannot be traced back to you.
- Subscription records held by app stores — Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Stripe each retain their own records of past transactions. These are governed by their respective privacy policies, not ours.
5. Subscriptions and Refunds
Deleting your Ascend account does not automatically cancel any active subscription. Subscriptions are billed by the app store you originally subscribed through:
- Apple App Store: manage at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
- Google Play Store: manage at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions
- Stripe (web): we will cancel any active Stripe subscription as part of your deletion request.
We strongly recommend cancelling any active subscription before deleting your account. Refunds, if applicable, are handled by the relevant store under their refund policies.
6. Account Deletion Is Permanent
Once your account is deleted, the action is irreversible. We cannot recover your data, your progress, your achievements, or your ascension level. If you want to use Ascend again in the future you will need to create a new account from scratch.
