Pink Noise

1/f spectral density (-3dB/octave)

Equal loudness per octave, perceived as more balanced and natural than white noise. A deeper, richer tone that many people find more soothing.

Brown Noise

Random walk (-6dB/octave)

Cumulative sum of white noise with a leaky integrator. Deep, rumbling quality, like distant thunder or a strong waterfall. Also called Brownian or red noise.

Binaural beats: brainwave entrainment

Ascend plays stereo binaural pairs, one tone for each ear. Three brainwave states available, with an opt-in toggle for user control. Requires headphones for the binaural effect.
